How the ladder works

Who can play

Alludio is invitation-only and 18 or older. You attest to your age when you join. Membership is granted by invite from the commissioner or an existing member, and can be suspended.

How a result becomes official

One player reports the result. The other confirms it. A match only affects ratings once it is finalized — nothing is rated while a result is still unreported or unconfirmed.

The 72-hour auto-confirmation

If a reported result is not confirmed or disputed within 72 hours, it confirms automatically and the match finalizes. Auto-confirmed matches are labelled as such, and your auto-confirm count is public on your profile. Silence is not a way to avoid a loss, and it is not a way to quietly win either.

The 7-day dispute window

You may dispute a result before you confirm it, or for 7 days after the match finalizes. Disputing a finalized match reverses its rating effect immediately while the commissioner reviews it. History is never rewritten — a reversal is recorded as an additional event, not by deleting the original.

Commissioner authority

The commissioner resolves disputes. A dispute may be upheld, corrected to a different result, or voided. Voiding a match reverses its rating effect exactly, back to the prior values. Every commissioner action writes an audit entry with a written reason, and that audit log is readable by members.

The recusal rule

If the commissioner played in the match, the only decision he is permitted to make is to void it. He cannot rule in his own favour, and he cannot rule against himself. This is enforced by the software, not by good intentions — the option to uphold or correct a result is unavailable on any match he played.

Cancellations and no-shows

Either player may cancel an accepted match before a result is reported. A cancellation never affects anyone’s rating, and there are no forfeit wins — you cannot be awarded a victory because someone did not turn up. No-shows are recorded and the count is public on the player’s profile. Sunlight is the entire enforcement mechanism.

Suspension

The commissioner may suspend a member for repeated no-shows, dishonest reporting, or harassment. A suspended member cannot issue or accept challenges. Suspension is recorded in the audit log with a reason, and can be reversed. You can also block another member at any time: blocking is silent and mutual in effect — neither of you will be offered the other as an opponent.

The public scoreboard ledger

Alludio can publish finalized results to a public, append-only log so that nobody — including Alludio — can silently rewrite the scoreboard after the fact.

This is opt-in and off by default. Once a batch is published it cannot be truly un-published, because a public log can be copied by anyone who is watching. Turning the setting off stops future matches from being published; it cannot retract what is already out.

A match is published only if every participant on both sides has opted in. If either side has not, the match still counts and still rates normally inside Alludio — it is simply never published outside it. Email, phone numbers, dispute reasons, and internal identifiers are never published.
